A true angel of kindness, he is determined to help Senay, a young immigrant fresh from Turkey, as best he can. But both will quickly find themselves trapped by the despicable Sneaky, who forces them to take part in a sordid racket.
Directly in the vein of his beautiful My Beautiful Laundrette, Stephen Frears thus leads us to discover the sordid underside of the English capital. Very far from postcard images, he immerses us in the difficult world of illegal immigration, pairing his observation with a gripping thriller whose primary stake is the quest for human dignity. Despite a far-fetched resolution, Dirty Pretty Things also benefits from masterly direction and the impeccable performances of Audrey Tautou, Sergi Lopez (perfect in his vile sliminess), and the charismatic Chiwetel Ejiofor, an excellent English stage actor. Surprising and shaking, the film forces us to look at a reality often left unspoken, with a resolutely humanistic perspective, full of hope. – Helen Faradji.

UPC: 065935202509

EAN: 0065935202509

Languages: French

Binding: DVD

Item Condition: UsedVeryGood
