Raving reviews, flattering comparisons ("the new Charlebois—the one from 'Lindberg,' of course"), and a shower of awards highlighted the quality of the work of this young singer-songwriter. Inspired and original, Boucher writes in a spoken language deeply rooted in the reality of Quebec, which is enough to ruffle the feathers of the Académie française ("pis c'est d'même pis c'est toutte" [and that's the way it is, that's all], "ça marche drette, tsé" [it works right, you know], "emberlificotaillé dans mes rêves" [tangled up in my dreams]). The title of his now-famous song "Ma Gang de malades!" has almost become a common expression in Quebec! There is a rare authenticity in Boucher that strikes a chord with the nationalist fiber of Quebecers and puts this debut album in a class of its own. Listening to Dix mille matins (the title refers to the number of days that elapsed between Boucher's birth and the creation of the album), one enters a very personal universe where poetry, humor, rebellion, existential angst, and nonchalance collide. All wrapped in a very polished production by Marc Pérusse. --Jean-Yves Girard

UPC: 055490098426

EAN: 0055490098426

Languages: English

Binding: Audio CD

Item Condition: UsedGood
