Long live Leclerc! After a masterfully orchestrated funeral, we prayed that it was all just a performance. The most impertinent of Quebec singers is more alive than ever. For this seventh album, Leclerc did exactly as he pleased. Freed from all production constraints, Jean "Dead Wolf" Leclerc has polished his often tragic stories ("Mexico," "Personne II," "Les Amours mortes")—without sanitizing them—set to irresistibly catchy guitar riffs. Because Leloup-Leclerc has a joyful, fundamentally quirky sense of tragedy. Clearly, his brief foray into literature (
Noir destin que le mien) has not exhausted the singer's words.
Mexico is one of his most well-written albums: each song sounds like a short story, with echoes reverberating from beginning to end. The whole thing forms the tale of a life, of all lives, interwoven with rock, folk, groove, rap—with music, that is, because without music, Leloup would surely be truly dead.
--Pascale Millot

UPC: 619061222728

EAN: 0619061222728

Languages: English

Binding: Audio CD
