From those that marked her beginnings, such as "Ce mortel ennui", "Elaeudanla teïtéïa", "Couleur café" or "Elisa". From those he offered to other performers, such as "La Gadoue" to Petula Clark, "Comment te dire adieu" to Françoise Hardy or "Le Mal intérieur" to Isabelle Adjani. But that is not the only interest of this album. It lies much more in Jane Birkin's desire to bring new and completely different orchestrations to each of these 15 songs. For this, she surrounded herself with talents as diverse as Les Négresses Vertes, Daran et les Chaises, pianist Jeff Cohen, American guitarist Sonny Landreth, jazz organist Eddy Louiss, African percussionist Doudou Ndiaye Rose, etc. For versions surprising in their diversity and contrast, energy and insolence, by turns melancholic and mischievous, grunge and hip-hop, which allow us to rediscover Gainsbourg. With special mentions for the understated "Physique et sans issue", the subtle "Dépression au-dessus d'un jardin", the moving "Sorry Angel", the crystalline "Ces petits riens". Jane Birkin, for her part, funny or moving as one could wish, sings better than ever. --Sylvie Devilette

UPC: 731453214026

EAN: 0731453214026

Languages: French

Binding: Audio CD

Item Condition: New
