Details: Product Description Parent, Kevin Amazon.ca Pigeon d'argile, Kevin Parent's first album, marked the smashing arrival on the Quebec music scene of this very young singer-songwriter from the Gaspé Peninsula. This varied record, which flirts with rock, folk, and country, allowed the singer to establish himself as one of the great stars of Quebec music. More than half of the 10 tracks, with their simple and introspective lyrics, climbed to the top of the charts. Among them, we note the ironic "Boomerang," the moving "Father on the Go," and above all "Seigneur," where the singer's troubling existential questions reach their climax. Parent, who knows how to make the most of his deep voice and his Gaspé accent, also relies on his bilingualism to flesh out his repertoire. Several tracks in English, such as "Mother of our Child," punctuate the album, adding to its originality and diversity. With over 350,000 copies sold, Pigeon d'argile is among the classics of Quebec music and represents a must-have for fans of the genre. --Nicolas Houle
