“Grandeur mature” shows us Émile, still on the front lines alongside his peers: the youth who have something to say. The singer-songwriter is no longer making excuses. He no longer enters from the wings, but instead parts the curtain at the center of the stage to say things as they are. Every subject is put to the test: homophobia, sexism, racism, Islamophobia, the family—the one that remains when everything else falls apart around you—the language we let wither and break, the profound exhaustion that sets in when we’ve tried too hard, the eco-anxiety that blends into the DNA of the new generation like a disease that is too late to tackle.

Mentor and collaborator Philippe B returns at the helm of production; he is the one who realigns Émile Bilodeau’s firework-like ideas. Ghyslain Luc Lavigne (sound recording and mixing) and Marc Thériault (mastering) complete the recording team at The Treatment Room studio. The album cover was designed by Wedge.
