Noir Désir / 666.667 Club - CD (Pre-owned)
Author: Noir Desir
Format: Live
Release Date: 11-03-1997
Details: Amazon.ca Here, it is certainly a question of fury, but in a more internalized way than on Tostaky. Where the band from Bordeaux let loose and offered a punchy previous opus produced by an American fond of hardcore, Noir Désir contrasts with a more mature and thoughtful work which, upon the first listen, seems more peaceful but paradoxically no less impassioned. The frontman's commitment to his fight against the National Front, which he sings about on "Un Jour en France," bears witness to this. Noir Désir, after barely more than ten years of career at the time of this record's recording, remains faithful to its line of conduct. An ethic that positions its songs somewhere between those of Miossec on Boire and the disheveled rock of the group Prohibition. Note the presence of jazz saxophonist Akosh S., to whom Cantat would return the favor by accompanying him. --Hervé Comte
