Brown Family is the latest endeavor (re-)uniting on record two brothers who have already left their personal mark on Quebec hip-hop forever – Snail Kid (Dead Obies) and Jam (K6A, Jam et P-Dox, Alaclair Ensemble) – with their Jamaican-born father Robin Kerr (Uprising).

In a time of linguistic controversies and debates surrounding Quebec identity and culture, Brown Family offers us the fruit of a family tree with a mixed heritage core, celebrating notions of hybridity and diversity through tracks that bridge the old guard and the new; roots-reggae and dancehall; golden age rap and the new school. Effortlessly reconciling opposite poles against a backdrop of boisterous partying, Brown Family reveals itself as the best-kept secret of a burgeoning scene.
