Details: Amazon.ca Released after a long absence in Quebec, Cap enragé presents Zachary Richard in a different musical context than what we were accustomed to, often preferring rock or intimate moods to the Cajun vein. The Louisiana singer thus manages to renew himself without losing his essence, exploring a new facet of his talent while retaining the phrasing and accent of his native land. The result is an undeniable success, both commercially (over 200,000 copies sold) and artistically. Enveloping his songs in subtle arrangements, where guitars are in the foreground, Zachary Richard knows how to build touching worlds. And one quickly falls under the spell of his simple but effective lyrics, such as the moving "Cap enragé," the little epic that is "La Ballade de Jean Batailleur," or the autobiographical "Au bord de lac Bijou." --Nicolas Houle
