Created in 2015, Joli-Bois is a pop-folk duo formed by Raphaëlle Lalande and Sonia Cordeau. Intuitive musicians, they explore themes of love, the future and its great promises, heartbreak, friendship, regret, and solitude. With imagery-filled and sensitive writing, the two young women offer delicate, warm, and sincere songs that they bring to life with rich, soft voices.

In January 2018, the group released its very first EP, Quand les vents. Since then, the group has performed several shows in Montreal (at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine, O Patro Vys, Le Verre Bouteille, and a Christmas concert at Théâtre La Licorne), in addition to opening for Mara Tremblay at L’Astral during the 2018 Francos de Montréal. Throughout the year, they also made musical appearances on Le Show de Rousseau and Entrée principale. They performed the song Neutre, which subsequently enjoyed significant airplay on satellite radio. In November 2018, they released the single Console-moi Noël, which generated significant interest upon its release, accompanied by the song’s music video, directed by Jean-François Chagnon.

In November 2019, Joli-Bois will offer a new album of original Christmas songs, Vert forêt. A series of shows will follow in December at Théâtre La Licorne.
