Details: The fate of this ordinary family changed the day a mysterious stranger returned to Jean-Guy Lavigueur the wallet he had lost a few days earlier, which contained the winning ticket for the largest jackpot in Loto-Québec's history. We know of the Lavigueurs only what the media at the time chose to disclose: incomplete, often distorted snippets that fueled a tabloid press thirsty for minor scandals. Mockery, contempt, and insults were part of their daily life. In short, the Lavigueurs were often manipulated, they tore each other apart, and they learned the price of fame at their own expense.
