Details: Nine-year-old Mathilde has been living alone with her mother, Hélène, since her parents' divorce and her grandfather Paul’s heart surgery. School failure is a constant source of conflict between mother and daughter. Often hiding under her bed, the little girl has created her own world and mystery there. One night, Mathilde runs away from home to go to the nursing home where her grandfather is languishing. In her hands, she holds a letter from Madeleine, who has been missing for 30 years. Mathilde now knows she has been lied to, and that her grandmother is not dead. She has come to break Paul out so he can help her find her.
