The Montreal trio Le Couleur, founded by Laurence Giroux-Do (vocals), Patrick Gosselin (bass), and Steeven Chouinard (drums), delivers a rich and irresistibly danceable performance.
Le Couleur first propelled itself toward an electro-pop sound as brilliant as the lights of the late Studio 54, with the EPs Voyage Love (2013) and Dolce désir (2015), then with P.O.P. (2016), a debut album praised by critics. Thanks to the valuable advice of Giorgio Moroder, with whom the group had the chance to share the stage, Le Couleur recorded their new album with a brand-new approach.
Concorde is a reference to the name of the legendary Franco-British aircraft dating from 1965, nicknamed "the beautiful white bird," with its chic and modern aesthetic. Laurence Giroux-Do became fascinated by this avant-garde project with its tragic ending. A fatal "crash" that inspired a form of macabre sensuality in her.
The musical composition features vintage influences, recalling the dated charm of the 70s erotic universe, and warm tones that also take root in psychedelia, disco, yé-yé, and French chanson.
