Details: Amazon.ca After their time in France where they cut their teeth during the previous episode ( Les Boys II ), the amateur hockey players who drew Quebecers to the cinema are reunited once again at Chez Stan's brasserie. They have aged, and are now watching their waistlines and double chins. But now, they are challenged to face the Canadian women's hockey team. The group of machos is no match for these seasoned players—actresses for the duration of a film—the very same ones who, without any staging this time, won the gold medal at the Salt Lake City Olympic Games. The Boys will suffer a stinging defeat, though not without learning a few lessons. These joyful characters, boorish to the point of caricature, will eventually show solidarity and prove, despite their weaknesses, that their hearts are in the right place. Supported by a five-star cast—Alexis Martin, Marc Messier, Patrick Huard, Paul Houde, and Serge Thériault, joined by singer France D'Amour as a sparkling waitress—Les Boys III has established itself, like the first two films, as a success both in terms of laughs and at the box office. Directed by Louis Saïa, the comedy manages to strike a chord with Quebecers: honor, family, father-son relationships, not to mention a national sport that has been somewhat mistreated since speculation and American dollars got involved. The film is also dedicated to the late Maurice Richard. A must-see, with friends, over a few beers. --Hélène de Billy
