Details: Product Description Yvan, a sports journalist who is a bit jealous, admittedly, but not so easily fooled, shares his life with Charlotte, an actress. 'In my short career as an actor, I have had to shoot a few love scenes. When you spend your day in bed, naked, with an actress, kissing and caressing her, it's always a bit strange to go home in the evening and have dinner normally with your own wife. Even if it's all fake, well, almost all of it is actually real.' Yvan ATTAL Amazon.ca For his transition to directing, actor Yvan Attal draws inspiration from his personal experiences and transforms his short film I Got A Woman into a feature film. My Wife Is an Actress is a successful first attempt, with crisp dialogue and inspiring romanticism, as an homage to this legendary profession. Yvan (Attal himself) is a sports journalist and is not particularly known for his class. Yet, he is married to Charlotte (Gainsbourg), a star of the big screen. When she has to leave for London to shoot a film with the seductive John (Terence Stamp), Yvan cannot help but let jealousy consume him. Living with an actress, the object of all attention and all fantasies, must certainly pose certain problems, and Yvan Attal skillfully translates these difficulties. But it is above all in the deceptive game between reality and fiction that his work takes on its full meaning, as he and Charlotte Gainsbourg are a couple in real life. Playing with our voyeurism, while maintaining a healthy distance from his subject, he also makes his first film a true declaration of love to his wife, his actress with the angelic face. With a humor that sometimes recalls Woody Allen, a dynamism à la Cukor, and a snappy, sophisticated soundtrack, and despite a few poorly defined characters, Attal delivers a thoroughly delightful romantic comedy. --Helen Faradji
