Details: Every year men put on red suits, stuff pillows under their belts, and transform themselves into the best possible approximation of Santa Claus. Santa is an archetype, a mysterious figure that has evolved throughout time, adjusting to society and absorbing numerous influences. He is a figure recognized across cultural boundaries as a symbol of celebration or as a cornerstone of capitalism. But who are these Men In Red Suits personifying: a Christian saint or a pagan deity, a toy salesman, soft-drink spokesman or that mystical being who can fulfill every child’s dream? The answer is as diverse as the men who choose to wear the red suit. ----- White beard, red suit, and a pillow under the belt… Every year it’s the same story: thousands of men desperately try to look like Santa Claus. Impostors? Not at all! Meet those who, for a brief moment, embody this mythical character whose behavior is even flashier than his outfit. And yes, Santa Claus has a bit of a kooky side, too…
