Details: Four years after the release of his last one (Tome 7), François Pérusse strikes again with L'Album du peuple - Tome 8. The luckiest number for the Chinese and, for François, a big number, as it is his eleventh career album (21 years). Though surprised by his own longevity, Pérusse is more anxious than ever. As he puts it so well: the pressure from the success of previous albums keeps the bar high, and he is "clenched"! His unconditional respect for the loyal fans who have followed him for a long time drove his decision to keep the same "album du peuple" concept, a vein that has served him very well since 1991. Armed with great rigor in selecting the best elements from his production of the last four years, he is very happy with the final selection. Die-hard fans will find some famous characters, including Louis-Paul Fafard-Allard, host at CDKC (community radio), as well as "The guy who shops" and Mona in a delightful montage. Among the newcomers is Guy, a lounge bar organist-host, a character in the purest kitsch style—a universe that Pérusse particularly enjoys. He also offers a special segment of censored clips that were removed and "reintroduced" with mischievous pleasure. Among the major themes that influenced his writing, we can cite the economic situation of the last few years and its repercussions on society, as well as new technologies. In terms of music, singer-songwriter Pérusse particularly spoiled himself with some original musical whims. The songs "Bad English," "Le monde a des kodaks," and "La Twittere" were composed specifically for Tome 8 and have never been broadcast on the radio. Fans will be pampered! The digital era marked the production of TOME 8. Aware that consumers can now buy individual tracks on the Internet, François assembled the album with that in mind while still preserving a nice consistency. As generous as ever, François promises additional content for Tome 8, accessible on zeromusic.com. Buyers will be able to download it after discovering the password recorded on the album.
