Details: After Brun, le déluge, Bernard Adamus is back with his new album, N° 2. Eric Villeneuve once again wears the captain-producer’s hat, surrounded primarily by the musicians who made the previous tour a success, along with a few special guests. However, to shake up this bluesy mess a bit, Pierre Rémillard was brought in for recording and mixing—a man whose work is celebrated in the metal, punk, and hardcore scenes—along with Érick Jarry, who participated in the first opus. While the singer-songwriter continues to captivate with his touching songs, cradled by unease but also by the joyful intensity of those who stay up late, N° 2 nonetheless features moments of grace. "Arrange-toi avec ça," the first single, with its unbelievable double bass, heavy percussion, and vocal arrangements by the girls of Canailles, a bluegrass band that has often shared the stage with the great Pollack of the joual tongue. "Ouais ben" is amplified to the max and takes us back to the golden age of Gros Mené, while "Entre ici pis chez vous" is driven by a possessed piano—so many details that elevate this new album beyond the heights where Brun charmed us.
