Details: While Novice had taken him across the English Channel and given his music strong new wave accents, Alain had long dreamed of a record with a strong US influence. It was a trip to Memphis on assignment for Glamour magazine that allowed him to record for the first time at Sun Studio, the temple of Elvis. This opportunity proved to be the catalyst for the album Osez Joséphine. Jean Fauque and Alain Bashung embarked for Memphis with a pronounced desire for the blues. They returned with the makings of a legendary album that would be completed at the ICP studio. Osez Joséphine would bring Alain his first true popular success, with over 400,000 copies sold and a title that became a legend, Osez Joséphine.
