Details: For this album (recorded in March 2002 during a show at the Canal+ studios), Henri Salvador called upon jazz aces: André Ceccarelli (on drums), Dominic Cravic and Bireli Lagrene (guitar), Vincent Artaud (double bass), Éric Lelann (trumpet), and Bernard Arcadio (keyboards). But this is only natural for this jazzman for all eternity: honor to whom honor is due. For Mr. Salvador also enlisted the services of the European Symphony Orchestra, with whom he revisits several tracks from his repertoire, some of which date back to 1955 ("Ma doudou", "Le Loup, la Biche et le Chevalier"). Performance is a journey through time alternating between songs from the past ("Syracuse", "Tu es entrée dans mon âme") and the present ("Jardin d'hiver"). Emotion, warmth, sensuality, a complicit duet (with Laurent Voulzy on "Ma doudou") or a charming duet (with the Swedish singer Lisa Ekdhal on "All I Really Want"), Henri Salvador strings words together against a backdrop of Brazilian or swing rhythms. A true delight for the ear and the soul. --Valérie Dupouy
