Produced by the BBC and the Discovery Channel, in collaboration with Radio-Canada, Planet Earth describes the planet through never-before-seen footage. It is the result of five years of work which, thanks to a budget of some $22 million US, took its film crews and HD cameras to the four corners of the globe, from the highest mountains to the depths of the oceans, through deserts and Antarctica, filming well-known and obscure animals, struggles for survival, and threatened ecosystems. 2,000 days of filming, 40 cameramen, 200 locations around the world.
