Details: Product Description New 2000 Studio Album from French Pop/Jazz Artist. Amazon.ca Michel Jonasz is not an artist to procrastinate when it comes to singing jazz. However, the new millennium has transformed our man, who, they say, lets himself be carried by the energy of the present and electronic music. But rest assured, he is a jazzman, and a jazzman he shall remain. Pôle Ouest, recorded in a twelve-square-meter home studio, stands out from the previous seven. Drum machines, computers, synths, and techno enrich the musical color of this album ("Le Millénaire", "Ça finit jamais"). While Pôle Ouest marks his entry into the world of machines, its resonance remains jazz and blues nonetheless: "C'est ça le blues", "Le Scat" (which recalls the steady rhythms of "La Boîte de jazz"). Melancholy and joy are the two distinctive signs of this new musical experience. A change of course for the twenty-year career of our friend Michel. --Valérie Dupouy
