Details: Product Description The French alternative pop/rock star's 2003 album features 15 tracks. EMI. Amazon.ca The extravagant Monsieur -M- asks himself: Who of the two of us? And the listener is left to take the question for themselves, too. A question that might go back to that -M- as in Mystery. While everyone knows who Mathieu Chedid is, he continues—this is his 3rd album—to split himself in two to release records that escape him. Songs filled with Magic (with a capital M), the Marvelous (...), and above all with the obsession of M... Music. Mathieu Chedid plays (with) music by embracing genres and eras, styles and movements. The extravagant Monsieur -M- who settles the score with himself from the very first song ("Mon ego"), as hair-raising as a thunderclap. Excessively funky ("Je me démasque"), delicately swing ("La Bonne Étoile"), powerfully disco ("Gimmick"), with the guitar at his fingertips to deliver the knockout blow every time. -M- could very well be the name of the band that includes Mathieu Chedid after all. The musicians—Shalom, Cyril, Vincent—tighten their ranks around the compositions to make them wander over fatal rhythms ("Psyko Bug"). And on top of that escapes that guitar which Mathieu Chedid plays without restraint but without ostentation, with a velvet touch ("Peau de fleur") or an essential vibration ("Qui de nous deux"). To the title's question, we won't choose: we'll take the whole lot! --José Ruiz
