Details: Product Description Little Girl Amazon.ca Kiss and Run, his first opus, lacked a bit of personality: Richard Petit was not yet showing what he was truly capable of. While his compositions at the time, too closely tied to his influences (Leloup, Dédé Fortin), seemed formatted for the radio, the first tracks on Little Girl (the very catchy "2440", "Here We Go", and "Deuxième Étage") quickly shatter the impression one might have had of the comedian Martin Petit's younger brother. The singer makes a prodigious leap forward with this second album, which has a rawer, less calculated energy. Petit stands out here more clearly from his peers thanks to his refreshing blend of pop, rock, reggae, and ska. This record was likely composed with the stage in mind, where the rocker is visibly more at ease. Not to mention that Petit has surrounded himself with the crème de la crème of Quebec musicians, notably Dan Georgesco on guitar, Alain Quirion on drums, and Maurice Williams on bass. Little Girl is quality entertainment: let's hope it allows Richard Petit to take his rightful place from now on. --Frédéric Boudreault
