Details: Product Description Faudel Amazon.ca Faudel is on a roll. For this second album, the little prince of raï builds a bridge between North Africa, Egypt, and Latin America. It is a colorful journey punctuated by Arab folklore, reminiscent of the sweet and spicy atmosphere of oriental souks and palaces. The melodies, as bewitching ("Lila", "Paris – Le Caire") as they are catchy ("La Main dans la main", "Rohi", "Samra"), are the result of the expertise the artist proved effective on his first album. Faudel remains faithful to his roots, but also to his hometown of "Mantes-la-Jolie," borrowing a few rap scratches here and there to spice things up. Samra is an escape guided by the combined flourishes of percussion and wind instruments, with a predominance of oriental violin, oud, and guitar. An accordion even comes to flavor "Couleurs de ton âme." This emotional moment would not be complete without the presence of Yuri Buenaventura ("Salsa-Raï"), who came to participate in this very cosmopolitan album. --Valérie Dupouy
