Details: Product description 4th album & a new name for the Sound System Amazon.ca In three albums, the pioneers of the Afro Celt Sound System have shaken up world music with the rhythm of African incantations blended with Irish folklore and dance grooves. Abandoning the well-trodden ground of world music/electro fusion, the collective has shed its programmed loops and ethnic samples, and, renamed Afro Celts, shut itself away in its own Islington studio (formerly a testing ground for Pink Floyd). Supported by N'Faly Kouyate, the Jimi Hendrix of the kora, and the eminent Jah Wobble on bass, the three Afro Celts producer-musicians have placed their trust in musicians rather than machines. These former ambient creators turned songwriters now favor organic sounds featuring harp, percussion, tabla, bagpipes, mandolin, and bouzouki, which are met by the flamenco echo of Jesse Cook's guitar and the Brazilian tempo of singer Nina Miranda. With a new beginning comes a new album; Seed benefits from generous contributions by rapper Ms. Dynamite and rocker Mundy for a pop-epic conclusion in the style of U2 on "Rise Above It." --Sabrina Silamo
