Amazon.ca Charles Aznavour represents over 50 years of career, nearly 30 albums, and almost universal popularity. How do you summarize the journey of the singer of Armenian origin in a single disc? The compilation Ses plus grands succès manages it quite well. With its 22 tracks totaling over 70 minutes of listening, we reconnect with "Je te réchaufferai," "For me… Formidable," "Je m’voyais déjà," and "La Bohème," the tapes of which have been finely dusted off. The disc also includes a small booklet offering a history of the performer's career and reproductions of his original album covers. A relevant release and an excellent gateway into the rich and timeless world of Aznavour, Ses plus grands succès allows one to appreciate the skill with which the artist handles words and has known how to depict, without artifice, the second half of the last century through his loves, his hopes, and his disappointments. -- Nicolas Houle
