Details: Amazon.ca Starmania was a smashing success. Several generations of performers have tackled the work of Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger. The rock opera has set a standard since its stage premiere in 1979 and has bequeathed several "hits" to the French-speaking world, performed by great voices. Starmania, original version tells, through songs, the famous love story of Marie-Jeanne and Ziggy in a futuristic universe. While the arrangements seem a bit dated today, especially for the rockier tracks, the melodies are as captivating as ever. "Le blues du businessman" perfectly fits Claude Dubois, who uses the extended range of his voice here, while Diane Dufresne exults magnificently in "Les adieux d’un sex symbol." We also rediscover with pleasure the sweet charm of France Gall, the rock poise of Nanette Workman, and the beautiful, melancholic voice of Fabienne Thibeault, who created "Le monde est stone." A classic that will delight all fans of chanson. --Diane Jean Product Description Girls Soundtrack
