Author: Eicher, Stephan

Release Date: 15-07-2003

Details: Amazon.ca Since his famous Louanges, sung four years earlier, Stephan Eicher had released a compilation, Hôtel S, or composed the soundtrack for Antoine de Caunes' film "Monsieur N." Returning with Taxi Europa in the company of his friend of ten years, Philippe Djian, the wandering Swiss should satisfy fans of ditties like "Two People In A Room" or "Combien de temps." Announced as "decidedly rock," these thirteen new songs navigate between rock guitars and gospel vocals on "On nous a donné," tender ballads layered with brass on "Si on s'y mettait," and soaring strings and brass arrangements directed by the omnipresent Benjamin Biolay. A slew of collaborators embarked on the same Taxi Europa: Pierre Jaconelli (Hallyday, Zazie), the Dutchman Reyn, the German Herbert Grönemeyer, and the Italian Max Gazzé. A record that crosses borders from Engelberg via Carcassonne. --Sabrina Silamo
