Details: Amazon.ca A grandiose conclusion to The Lord of the Rings trilogy, begun in 2000 by Peter Jackson, The Return of the King is also one of the most awarded films in Oscar history. Indeed, like Ben-Hur and Titanic, this epic work took home 11 statuettes in 2004. Sauron's armies are besieging Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor. Will Aragorn find the courage to fulfill his destiny by becoming king of the city and leading men into battle, joined by the warriors of Rohan, their leader Théoden, and Gandalf? Though few in number, all available forces will be used to create a diversion and allow Frodo to complete his final mission. But will the valiant Hobbit, accompanied by Sam and Gollum, be able to find enough strength within himself to destroy the evil ring? Despite the somewhat tedious stretching of the resolution, one must admit that in The Return of the King, Peter Jackson is at his best as a filmmaker and storyteller. With breathtaking direction, striking moments of intensity, and poignant emotional scenes, the film perfectly conveys the full scope of J.R.R. Tolkien's work. Presented on a double DVD featuring three documentaries and 6 featurettes that clearly explain the secrets of the production, The Return of the King truly makes us regret that the adventure is already over. – Helen Faradji Special Features Commentary with Director & Writers Commentary with Design Team Commentary with Production and Post Production Commentary with Cast The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - The Untold Story Trailer Easter Egg - Elijah Wood/Dominic Monaghan "Hans Jensen" Berlin Interview Easter Egg - MTV Movie Awards 2004: The Pitch
