Time for a bike ride
Author: Edmony Krater and Zepiss
Format: Remixes included
Release Date: 19-02-2016
Details: A native of Guadeloupe, Edmony Krater grew up with the sound of Gwo Ka, this traditional Caribbean percussion. As a young trumpeter, Edmony founded the group GWAKASONNE with friends in the late 70s, which mixed Gwo Ka tradition and modern music (jazz, soul, spiritual). Edmony settled in France where he played with many Caribbean musicians as well as Bernard Lubat and Nougaro. In 1988, he recorded the album "Ti Jan Pou Velo," which is a tribute to the musicians of "roots" music, including percussionist Tijan, who had passed away some years earlier. This album is unique in Caribbean music for its coherence, originality, and modernity. This is the first time it has been reissued, and the track "Gwadeloup" is included on our "Kouté Jazz" compilation. Contains two previously unreleased bonus tracks
