Details: “Two years after a well-received demo, the two guys from Avec pas d’casque—now with the Dare To Care label—are back with *Trois chaudières de sang*, their first real album, with arrangements so simple you have to wonder which one is the demo. Well, country-folk was just to fill in the box. Because deep down, what these protégés of the artists behind *Trompe-L’oeil* are doing is much more song-focused, with rather slow country guitar rhythms, the kind of *boom chick chick, boom chick chick* variety. Like *Chaouin* by Fred Fortin. Like Johnny Cash’s *Deliah’s Gone*. Like *J’m’en r’tourne* by Dany Placard. See? While they might require some effort, the slightly languid vocals reminiscent of Mara Tremblay, the guitars that seem intentionally out of tune, and the drums slightly off-tempo don't cause us to lose interest. On the contrary, once accepted, these imperfections give even more weight to the vivid lyrics and already melancholy tunes. 'You don't measure the quality of the escape by the distance / The important thing is just to flee in the right direction.' (*La Pire Journée au monde*). A popsicle-stick of a record to listen to on rainy Sundays.” (Philippe Papineau, Le Devoir)
