Details: A pillar of the French rock scene for two decades now, and a firm favorite of the Quebec public, whom they visit regularly during concert tours, TRYÖ presents a 6th album titled "Vent debout" (Headwind). An album that is part of a particular moment in their collective history. It is surely no coincidence that the acoustic reggae of their beginnings has instinctively returned throughout most of the album. A return to their roots as well for the sound of their voices, with much singing in unison – but the very distinctive unison of Tryö. Sailors will confirm it: sailing headwind is not the most comfortable situation, but that is where you recognize the good crews. Vent debout is the most timeless of Tryö's works. Yet, four years of enormous historical density have passed – the Left, the attacks, Nuit debout – at the end of which Tryö "wanted more to observe than to lecture," as Guizmo summarizes. "A desire for optimism." From song to song, we hear many impulses expressed, much collectivity, many "we"s that are not there as a substitute for the first or third person singular, but to make heard an inclusive, firm, generous first person plural. Christophe Mali admits that it may be a bit of "Souchonism," but it is above all the desire to "treat serious subjects with a sunny, playful, dancing side." The four from Tryö know that this album will have one path on the radio with certain songs and another path on social media and among fans – "a more engaged, rougher path," says Christophe. For they do not confuse comfort with lukewarmness, or consolation with a whisper. Their return to basics is combative, fervent, smiling, and lively. It is not just a smile that helps to dissipate the clouds, it is like a course held in the storm. And above all like the feeling that seizes crews facing high seas, headwind – it is called fraternity" - Bertrand Dicale.
